Here it is, Judgement, my second contribution to JRPomazon's Major Arcana Tarot project.
Unlike Wheel of Fortune, I ended up putting Judgement through many design ideas. I originally started with something that was pretty much exactly like the original card in design. I thought this would have been too boring though, so I came across the idea of making the angel less traditional. The idea came about as I was looking through my Cthulu role-playing book; "What if Judgement Day came and it turned out God measured us by some odd, incomprehensible, alien standard, instead of any human moral code we could think of?"
My first sketches were quite abstract looking, taking ideas from here and there. In the end, I settled on this ethereal spirit being. I ended up cutting out the image of the people in the graves to focus more on the angel, which I am glad for since it allowed to more easily use things like the blur effect. I ended using a red for the angel since that was the color of the angel's wings in the original card.
The idea was basically that the angel cannot manifest on the plane of normal human existance, instead, it channels it's will through the gauntlets and trumpet. The reasoning would be that as a pure being, it's true form cannot be comprehended by human beings, and as such it provides a crude, imperfect representation of itself in the "real" world.
It seems you had quite the time planning this picture out and I have to say that I'm pleased with this end result. It looks quite epic if I do say so myself.

Thats interesting...considering that God could very well be a mistold encounter with an alien race (or something a long those lines, which I believe to be plausible) but all religious stuff aside, its and awesome design, paired with a simple, but epic background.
